eutema is a strategic RTD consultant company also managing ICT research programmes and projects. eutema’s current staff has a long experience in managing EU projects; acting as national contact point in EU IST activities; managing accompanying measures; bringing together R&D policy makers, the industry and programme managers.
TEKES, the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation is the main public financing and expert organisation for research and technological development in Finland. TEKES finances industrial R&D projects as well as projects in universities and research institutes.
DLR is the German Aerospace Centre as well as the Space Agency of the Federal Republic of Germany. DLR is organized as a non-profit organization and is member of Hermann von Helmholtz-Association of National Research Centres (HGF). Within DLR the Project Management Organization (Projektträger des BMBF im DLR) acts on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and is responsible to manage national research projects.
ISERD is an inter-ministerial non-profit directorate, founded by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor, the Ministry of Science, the Council for Higher Education Planning and Budgeting Committee, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. ISERD was appointed to promote the Israeli participation in the European Union Framework Program for R&D.
UTIA is the public research institution established by the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (In Czech: Ustav teorie informace a automatizace AV CR, v.v.i.). Our mission is to provide the basic research in the fields of theoretical cybernetics and computer science. We also help to the local academia and industrial partners to solve implementation issues in all their complexity. We implement algorithms on dedicated chips or programmable hardware.
VINNOVA (Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems) is a State authority that aims to promote growth and prosperity throughout Sweden. VINNOVA’s particular area of responsibility comprises innovations linked to research and development. It’s tasks are to fund the needs-driven research required by a competitive business and industrial sector, and to strengthen the networks that are a necessary part of this work.
BMVIT. The scope of activities of the Federal ministry for transport, innovation, and technology is defined by its responsibility for both tangible and intangible infrastructures that is road and rail networks, civil aviation, inland waterways, and telecommunications, as well as the networks of research and technology. In this context research, technology, and innovation guarantee timely participation in new developments.
NKTH. The National Office for Research and Technology has been established supervised by the the Minister of Economy and Transport. NKTH is responsible for implementing the government’s science and technology policy. Its duties are to provide a new framework for the national innovation system and to promote research and development that will boost Hungarian economy.
IWT-Flanders, the Institute for the promotion of innovation by science and technology in Flanders, is a governmental agency of the Flemish Government. Since innovation policy is a regional matter in Belgium, IWT-Flanders is the key organisation for support and promotion of R&D and innovation in Flanders. The total funding of IWT-Flanders amounts to 230 million euro in 2003. IWT is both a programme maker (in close co-operation with the Flemish Minister of Innovation) and a programme manager (selection and follow-up of research and innovation projects).
MiUR. The Italian Ministry for University and Research (Ministero dell'Università e della Ricerca - MUR) is the key RTD policy actor in Italy at state level. The ministry runs a large number of scientific programmes in all areas of science. The ministry also has key responsibilities for international co-operation. It concludes bi- and multilateral agreements on research and technology collaboration and is in charge of co-ordinating Italy’s participation in the European Union’s Framework Programme.
CEA is the French Atomic Energy Commission (Commissariat à l'énergie atomique). It is a public body established in October 1945 by General de Gaulle. A leader in research, development and innovation, CEA’s mission statement has two main objectives: becoming the leading technological research organization in Europe, and ensuring that nuclear deterrence remains effective in the future.
